(COLDWATER) - Michigan State Police say the investigation into a June 4 crash that killed Branch County Road Commission employee Casey Rice remains active.
Michigan State Police say investigators are still awaiting toxicology results, autopsy findings, a report from an accident reconstructionist and any available video evidence before the case can be submitted to the Branch County Prosecutor's Office for review.
The crash claimed the life of Rice on June 4. Authorities have not identified the truck driver involved in the incident.
Once the investigation is finished, the findings will be forwarded to prosecutors for consideration of any potential charges.
In the days following the crash, Michigan State Police said they believed drug use may have been a contributing factor. Investigators have not released additional details regarding that statement.
