Fort Wayne Philharmonic Returns To DeKalb Outdoor Theater Friday

(AUBURN) - The Fort Wayne Philharmonic will return to the DeKalb Outdoor Theater on Friday evening for a free Patriotic Pops concert celebrating America 250.

The performance begins at 7:30 p.m. at the theater, located at 301 South Center Street in Auburn adjacent to the DeKalb County Fairgrounds. Gates open at 6 p.m.

Under the direction of conductor Caleb Young, the orchestra will perform a program featuring patriotic favorites, movie music and American classics. Selections include the "Star-Spangled Banner," "Overture to Of Thee I Sing," music from Independence Day, "Harry's Wondrous World" from Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, "Semper Fidelis," "Armed Forces on Parade," "Superman March" and more.

Lawn seating will be available, and attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets.

Admission is free. The concert is sponsored by Steel Dynamics, Inc. and The James Foundation.

Organizers note the performance will be canceled in the event of inclement weather.

The concert is part of the DeKalb Outdoor Theater's Friday Night Performance Series.

A separate private fundraiser hosted by Godfathers Motorcycle Club Charities is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday at the theater.
